CareerFruits - What are we trying to solve?

CareerFruits - The name has originated back on 2007 when I was thinking about how one can make his/her career more fruitful. The thought of CareerFruits was originally to create a platform where Jobs and Candidates are treated more humanly than just piece of text and bunch of excel sheets.

As part of my role I used to work day long on various job portals to find candidates based on a search criteria. Now that search criteria was very trial & error kind of story. I had to try 10 different things to find a meaningful list of candidates. I found it really boring and tiring. It used to frustrate me and I was spending more time in finding information vs actually building relationships with the candidates. I would rephrase it and say "I was loosing my time on finding information". Secondly - there was no way to provide rating/review on a resume. Shortlisting or marking a resume for review later was definitely a possibility but commenting on a resume or assigning some custom tags of my own so that I can sort them later etc... was more of a dream. So essentially - I had tons of resumes with no way to sort. It used to take hours to search and find the right candidate.

Moreover - the resume database access is a paid service. You get access to the database from any job portal when you pay a handsome fee. You get multiple such database accesses to make sure you have good pool to search against. However - In practice, you will note that you just get resume database access and all you do is search and download. All your process interview scheduling/tracking etc. takes place after this.

Even as a job seeker, I do need to fight some of these issues. I find that Jobs are hard to find. The search either takes too many parameters or takes too much of input to find a job. Moreover - I have to upload 10 different things and signup with the site to apply for the job. There are tons of websites out there and everyone wants my resume / profile details.

What we are trying to provide:

1. A simple and easy way to post jobs and apply to jobs

2. An easy way to tag profiles/filter or mark profiles

3. Post comments to jobs and provide feedback to profiles

4. Share Jobs on social networks

5. Manage entire recruitment workflow from within our "candidate dashboard"

6. Make everything community driven. The most active you are - the more free period you get to use our services.
